Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has taken out his second successive Best FIFA Men’s Player award after a trophy-laden campaign.
The 32-year-old helped Real Madrid to their first La Liga title in five years, scoring 25 times in 29 appearances, and turned on the style in the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League, scoring 10 of his 12 goals against Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo added a further four goals from two appearances in the FIFA Club World Cup, with three of those strikes coming in the Final against Japanese outfit Kashima Antlers, where Real Madrid ran out 4-2 winners.
Success has followed the former Manchester United man onto the international stage, where he qualified directly for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with Portugal after leading the way with 15 goals in nine qualifiers.
El Clasico rival Lionel Messi had to settle for second place, as he did in last year’s edition of the award, while Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar finished third.
