Everton’s transfer business has gone under the radar amidst the drama surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s apparent desire to leave Real Madrid and Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract snub at AC Milan.

The Toffees have secured the signings of no less than three players in key positions in the squad, starting with highly rated Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for £30 million.

Jordan Pickford made the second-most saves in the English Premier League last season (135), and made the most saves by per game average (4.7)

Jordan Pickford was the glimmer of hope in the abject failure that was Sunderland’s 2016/17 campaign, and garnered attention from several Premier League clubs throughout the season.

His transfer fee is certainly hefty, and makes him the most expensive signing in the history of the club, but Everton showed the urgency needed to provide a replacement for hit-and-miss goalkeeping pair Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles.

Everton’s next move was for Ajax attacking midfielder Davy Klaassen, who arrives at the club for £23.6 million after narrowly missing out on Europa League glory last season.

The 24-year-old Dutchman has spent his entire professional career in Holland with Ajax, and proved to be quite prolific in his last two campaigns, netting totals of 20 and 15 across all competitions.

Whether Everton’s intention is for Klaassen to replace or play alongside the heavily criticized and under fire Ross Barkley, the signing is an early signal of their intent heading into the new campaign.

Completing the trio of signings is the all-but-confirmed addition of Malaga striker Sandro for £5.3 million.

The 21-year-old joined Malaga on a free transfer last season after being let go by Barcelona, enjoying his breakout year in La Liga by scoring 14 times from 30 appearances, and 16 from 31 in all competitions.
