Gylfi Sigurdsson has consistently provided a creative threat for Swansea City, and is 5th in assists in combined Premier League tallies from the last three seasons. He has 26 assists in his last three league campaigns, trailing the likes of Kevin De Bruyne (27), Christian Eriksen (30), Mesut Ozil (33) and Cesc Fabregas (37)

The Merseyside club can offer European football, a prospect which could help lure the Iceland international, but the player has reiterated his desire to remain at Swansea unless the club want to sell him.

“I signed a new contract in the summer and I’ve got three years left,” said the 27-year-old.

“So, it’s down to the club if they want to sell me. But I was very happy when I was on loan here and then again in the last three years.”

Gylfi Sigurdsson initially joined Swansea on a loan deal from Hoffenheim in January 2012, scoring seven times in an impressive 19 appearances.

His performances grabbed the attention of Tottenham, who struck a deal with Hoffenheim for a permanent transfer at £8.8 million six months later.

However, infrequent playing time at Spurs led to frustration for Sigurdsson, who moved back to Swansea on a permanent deal just two years later.

The Iceland international has grown into a key player for the Welsh club and played every game of their Premier League survival last season, scoring nine times and assisting 13.

Gylfi Sigurdsson would be an ideal replacement for Ross Barkley, who is heavily rumoured to be leaving Everton in the summer window.
