Inter Milan are reportedly aiming to land a loan move for Jiangsu Suning midfielder Ramires in the January transfer window, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The former UEFA Champions League winner left Chelsea in January 2016 for the Chinese Super League club, where he finished as a runner-up last season.
His time away from European football hasn’t subdued his ability to attract interest from top-tier clubs, though, with the Nerazzurri hopeful of bolstering their midfield ranks with the acquisition of the Brazilian.
The likelihood of the deal being completed is high due to the relationship between the owners of Inter Milan and Jiangsu Suning; Chinese consortium Suning Holdings Group hold a majority stake at Inter, while their sister company, Suning Appliance Group, are the owners of Jiangsu.
Jiangsu Suning have failed to pick up where they left off last season – finishing 2nd – and are languished just outside the relegation places with three games to play.
Despite this, Ramires has performed admirably, registering as their joint top-scorer in the league with seven goals from 23 appearances.
