Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Juventus are back in the market for French midfielder Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain.
Massimiliano Allegri has apparently grown frustrated with the lack of progress over potential deals for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, who looks set for Manchester United, and Emre Can, who is currently in the middle of contract negotiations with Liverpool.
Juventus have identified the 30-year-old midfielder to strengthen an already experienced midfield that currently boasts the likes of Sami Khedira, Claudio Marchisio and Miralem Pjanic.
Blaise Matuidi admitted to being close to a move to Juventus in the past, speaking with French newspaper L’Equipe last November to confirm the rumours.
“At that time, it was true (that I was ready to go to Juventus),” said Matuidi.
“I asked myself a lot of questions and the answer which came to my mind was that it might be time to leave.”
PSG dismissed the possibility of letting the midfielder leave the club but, with Matuidi’s contract expiring in June next year, a move is back on the cards.
Juventus were initially put off a deal for Blaise Matuidi when PSG set a €40 million price tag for his transfer, but a lack of alternatives has rekindled their interest.
