Wayne Rooney could be on his way out of boyhood club Everton this summer – with a move to MLS looking most likely.
DC United have been strongly linked with a move for the former England captain, who rejoined the Toffees last summer after 13 years at Manchester United.
And despite some eye-catching moments back at Goodison, his impact has become negligible in the second half of the campaign.
He missed the draw with Southampton in Everton’s last Premier League home game of the season and with uncertainty regarding the future of manager Sam Allardyce, Rooney might decide the time is right for a fresh challenge.
As well as DC there is reportedly also interest from China and at Glasgow Rangers in Scotland with whom Rooney’s former England team-mate and fellow scouser, Steven Gerrard, takes charge next month.
