Chelsea’s Spanish enforcer was a rock at the back in the 1-1 draw at Anfield, having more touches of the ball (96) and tackles (8) than any of his teammates.

Let Xherdan Shaqiri ghost past him a little too easily in the build-up to Stoke’s goal, but made up for it by being in the right spot at the right time to tap home and hand Crystal Palace a much-needed victory.

We double up with Watford players in midfield with the inclusion of Will Hughes, who is relishing his opportunity at Premier League level. The 22-year-old showed his quality to finish with aplomb in the first half but never shied away from defensive responsibilities, putting in five tackles.

Different class in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool. So often isolated against numerous red shirts, the Belgian had no problems breaking the lines, completing a whopping 10 dribbles.
