Italian reports are suggesting that Zenit St. Petersburg have offered €30 million for Roma centre-half Kostas Manolas.

The Greek international is a transfer target for several major European clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Inter Milan, with the latter two of those clubs reportedly agreeing to personal terms with the player throughout the 2016/17 campaign.

Kostas Manolas gained invaluable experience against some of the world’s best players in the Champions League with AS Roma, making 16 appearances for the Italian club in the competition. His debut in Europe came with AEK Athens in 2010, while his debut in the Champions League came with Olympiakos two years later, and he’d already made 13 appearances and scored two goals in the competition before signing for Roma

Kostas Manolas’ agent recently met with Roma sporting director Monchi to discuss the proposed offer of €30 million from Zenit.

It is also being widely reported that Chelsea have reignited their interest in Manolas, and would be willing to make an offer in the region of €47 million (£42 million).

The 26-year-old is best described as a highly physical and quick centre-half with limited ability on the ball, but possesses a robust approach that hardly sees him beaten by his opposite number.

Manolas joined Roma in 2014 from perennial Greek champions Olympiakos for €15 million, where he has gone on to make himself a key player for the Italians in 131 appearances across three seasons.

Roma’s transfer window initially faced uncertainty due to perceived Financial Fair Play pressures, but that trail of thought has been put in doubt following the club’s reported agreement to sign Jean Michael Seri from OGC Nice for €35 million.
