Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists the pressure of a Champions League Final is what the big players thrive on.
Champion in 2002 courtesy of his stunning winner against Bayer Leverkusen, the France World Cup winner is aiming to guide his side to a third successive European crown – a feat never achieved in the modern era of the competition.
His main hope rests with five-times World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo who, like himself in his playing days, is Real’s star man.
Zidane said: “To make it to a final is not easy. We are extremely happy to be here and play in another final.
“Ronaldo lives for these matches, to play in these matches. That’s what his life is all about. That’s what makes him tick.”
Liverpool stand in Real’s way of making history, with Zidane expecting a tough task in Kiev.
“We have the same chance as Liverpool. We are not favourites, Liverpool are not favourites. Favourites? In the dressing room that is not what we believe,” he stated.
